Alexander Albrecht

About me

Alexander Albrecht is a Swiss actor with roots in Zurich and St. Moritz. His work has taken him to Berlin, New York and Mexico City, shaping an international approach to acting and theatre work.

He has appeared in productions including the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, the Sky series Little Birds and the German ZDF/UFA production Ku’damm 63. Further work includes the independent feature film The Coachman directed by Fred MacDonald.

Albrecht trained in Zurich and at the renowned Susan Batson Studio in New York City.

Alongside his screen work, he performed leading roles in The Gods of Silicon Valley, Into the Woods Jr. at Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, Max und Moritz, and as Jim in The Zoo Story by Edward Albee. In the solo theatre production Der Schuss nach Alexander Puschkin, he portrayed all characters throughout the performance.

As Artistic Director of the Alpine Theater Company, Albrecht developed a distinct theatrical language together with his core team. His performances as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in RE:MOZART and Dr. Faust in FAUST:RELOADED drew attention for their intensity, versatility and emotional depth.
