Luca Serra

Luca Serra Busnengo is an actor, director, and Designated Meisner Teacher with an international career and training that encompasses some of the most prestigious theatrical methods. Graduating in 2002 from the professional theatre school Teatranza – Artedrama in Moncalieri (TO), Luca honed his technique through studies in the Strasberg/Meisner method in Los Angeles and New York. He also studied directing in Russia, refining his understanding of theatre as a total art form.

Throughout his career, Luca has received numerous awards, including the Fersen Award for Best Director in 2014 for the production L’ambigua storia di un bicchiere di Merlot. As an actor, he won two awards at the International Festival "I Teatri del Mondo" in 2020 for the play Fratelli in fuga (First Prize of the Jury of the Young Audience and First Prize of the Expert Jury). In 2023, he received two awards at the Crash Test Festival for Io//Odio (Jury Prize and Audience Prize). He has also had the opportunity to perform in New York at the SoHo Playhouse with Io Odio (English version), selected by the Milano Fringe Festival, and in Paris at the Épée de Bois Theatre in French, starring in the play L'Architetto e l'Imperatore d'Assiria by F. Arrabal.

Luca is a co-founder of the cultural association O.P.S. Officina per La Scena and a lifetime member of The Actor’s Center Roma with Michael Margotta.

In addition to his career as an actor and director, Luca teaches acting with a particular focus on the Meisner technique and the creation of authentic, visceral performances.
